Biotechnology – Introduction

The Biotechnology program at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh city is a general Applied and Natural Science program that serves Vietnamese economy. The program was first established in December 2004 as a 4-year program with a fixed curriculum system of the Institute of Biotechnology and Food-technology, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. The Biotechnology program endeavors to develop graduates with a broad understanding of science and its methods, engineering and its applications, and the use of these methods in solving problems in industry, business, and government. In 2014, the Biotechnology program became a credit system with a total of 155 credit hours and the designed graduation period about 4 years.

In December 2017, the credit hour was changed from 45 minutes into 50 minutes according to the new university policy. Therefore, the curriculum changed to 146 credit hours system. This new curriculum was applied for the student who enrolled in fall semester of 2018. In 2019, we first established the Master of Science program for Biotechnology.
